   Sycamore announces staff reductions
   ..During their May 5 meeting, the Sycamore Board of Education approved the reduction of 24 positions that will provide the district with a projected savings of $1.2 million in 2011-12.
   .
   Thirteen teaching positions will be eliminated K-12 impacting classroom and special education teachers, along with gifted and ESL instruction. Eleven support positions will be eliminated impacting clerical and building maintenance staff, along with educational assistants who support students in the classroom.

   ..The reductions were identified through the district’s annual practice of auditing staffing levels for possible reductions. The cutbacks will be accomplished by not filling positions vacated due to retirements and resignations at the end of the 2010-11 school year or through layoffs.
   ..“It’s never an easy task to reduce staffing levels,” said Adrienne C. James, Ed.D., superintendent. “However, our goal is to balance academic programming with fiscal responsibility, which is incredibly important in these difficult economic times.”

   Now I have 4 sets of numbers, of which NONE agree for any of the 8 years from FY2004 thru FY2011.

   A) ODE Staff Members
   B) Treasurer 10/3/11 email numbers
   C) Buckeye Institute entries by year
   D) Buckeye Institute entries reduced by duplicates and under $1000.

   District treasurer: I would like to come in and see what the actual Sycamore School District main office records show.

   Please let me know when there will be a good time and date.
